I was born in Bellows Falls, Vermont- October 9th, 1955, back when ships were made of wood and men were made of steel. That's not quite true, since my grandfather, Paul Moffitt worked as a steel worker in the shipyards in Bath, Maine during WWII. He taught all his sons to weld early on, my father Gerald being one of them.
My earliest memories have a lot to do with the bright flashes, sounds, smells, fluctuating revolutions of the old engine-driven arc welders. I did not learn to weld from my father, but taught myself much later. Growing up in Bennington, Vermont, where I survived six years of Catholic school, I fantasized about being James Bond or a Hell's Angel. I ate, drank and slept motorcycles- raced motocross here and overseas in the 70s.
Music was, and always will be, my sanctuary. I play drums and recorded on several CDs and vinyl and toured in Europe through the early 90s. I lived in Europe and moved to NYC in 1986, where I was 'til recently. I now live upstate where I have a shop doing metal, wood, hide tattooing and several other distractions.
I have a son (Damien), a Pit-bull (Brick), and a drag-equipped Harley Davidson (used for purely for therapeutic purposes).
